The PMDF Service Dispatcher is a resident process that listens for incoming TCP/IP connections on various ports. The Dispatcher matches incoming connection requests to various servers (for example, the multithreaded SMTP server, a POP3 server, an IMAP server, an HTTP server, etc.). The PMDF Service Dispatcher, and the services it handles, can be run on a PMDF-MTA system. This chapter describes how to use the PMDF Service Dispatcher command line configuration utility (PMDF CONFIGURE DISPATCHER). This utility generates a basic PMDF Service Dispatcher configuration file (dispatcher.cnf) in the PMDF_TABLE directory. This chapter also includes a checklist of the steps you need to take to complete the configuration of the PMDF Service Dispatcher.
