Process Software WebMail Overview
Process Software WebMail client is accessible to users via any web browser
or wireless device . Requests are handled by the webserver, Apache, which
runs the Process Software WebMail client application.
User Settings, Address Book, Calendar/Task, profiles and account information
are stored in a MySQL database. The email delivery and storage control are
retained by the SMTP and POP3/IMAP server, which is accessed by the Process
Software WebMail client.
Process Software WebMail supports any existing POP3/IMAP server running
under Linux.
Process Software WebMail Features Process Software WebMail boasts an innovative user interface, pushing the
boundaries of the traditional WebMail feature-set:
- Intuitive Interface
Process Software WebMail includes "Advanced" interfaces
for both IE and Mozilla/Firefox that look like traditional desktop webmail
clients, utilizing the latest in Javascript/XUL & Ajax technologies.
A light-weight "Simple" inteface
is also provided, for access via any browser.

Groupware support
Utilizing a permissions-based assignment system, Address
Book and Calendar/Task data can be shared with and assigned to other
users or groups [within Process Software WebMail]. The groupware module
provides maximum efficiency and enhances team productivity.

Enhanced Address Book
Process Software WebMail enhanced Address Book functionality
allows users to import and export contacts from/to CSV (Comma Separated
Values) file format. Search and import functionality via LDAP is also
provided. Users and administrators can utilize the powerful tabbed
interface of the Address Book to create permissions-based shared contacts,
controlling which contacts are visible to or editable by other users.
The Address Book can also be configured to disallow permissions controls
for all users (this is useful for free email services where global
address book access is not desired).

Enhanced Scheduler (Calendar)
The Scheduler interface allows users to manage
appointments (tasks) on a quarterly, annual, or daily basis.

Process Software WebMail includes the full
source code. Administrators can add or modify features to accommodate
their requirements. The availability of the WebMail software source
code suits the dynamic development needs of all organizations.
- Outlook-to-WebMail Sync
Microsoft Outlook can be synchronized with your
Process Software WebMail account so that Contacts and Scheduler data
can be shared between a desktop and WebMail client. If a user adds
a new appointment (task) or contact while using Outlook or Process
Software WebMail, the data will be automatically synchronized between
the applications.
- Start Page
After logging into your email account, view a summary via the
webmail client "start
page". Here you can check new messages, calendar entries, tasks,
and recent logins. This is a great place for placing company news, advertisement
banners, or logos.
- Tabbed Email Browsing
Email messages can be viewed within a tabbed pane
below the folder message-list pane. The tabbed interface allows quick
navigation of messages.
- Tree-style Folder Menu
Email folders are now accessible via a tree-menu,
making it easy to categorize folders and access them again quickly. Sub-folders
can be created by right-clicking on a folder. To move a message into
a folder, simply 'drag and drop' the message into the desired folder
(or check the box next to message and select the destination folder
from a list).
- Multi-Account Support
From within the WebMail interface(s), users can access
any number of external email accounts via POP3 or IMAP.

Mail Encryption
Keep your mail private by enabling mail encryption. Options
range from commercial to military grade encryption (4096 bit) for outgoing
email messages. Messages can be automatically signed with your public
encryption key, allowing others to send encrypted messages to you.
- Full MIME Support
Process W supports MIME email messages, allowing users
to receive attached pictures, multimedia content and data contained in
email messages. Users can compose email messages and attach files to
outgoing messages.
- HTML templates for easy customization
The user interface and overall appearance
of the WebMail Client is created using HTML templates; the HTML source
code and output of the core Perl system are separated, allowing for
easy modification and customization. You can modify the Process Software
WebMail Client system to match the branding of your organization by
editing the HTML template source code.
- User-customizable preferences and WebMail Client interface
Users can change
the WebMail Client interface style and colors to suit their personal
taste. Process Software WebMail offers many options that the user can
choose from, providing a powerful and feature-rich webmail service.
- Support for wireless devices
Mobile phones and PDA's that support the WAP/XHTML
protocol can access email resources. Process Software WebMail Client
provides an interface via XHTML, allowing users to send & receive
email using their mobile device.
- Webmail Client Message Templates
Commonly known as "stationery".
The new Message template Wizard allows users to add images and enhanced
HTML formatting to outgoing messages. After generating a template, the
source HTML can be edited manually.
- Folder Management Utility
Messages received by Process Software WebMail
can be moved among folders for sorting and archiving purposes. New folders
and sub folders can be added and deleted, allowing users to categorize
and organize messages.
- Mailbox Sorting & Searching
Messages contained in a user's Inbox can
be sorted by Subject, Date, or Email Address. Users can search their
mailbox for messages containing matches of the user-specified string,
allowing quick and easy access to stored email.
