There are several important OpenVMS ECO Kits (patches) which you should obtain and apply if you have not done so already. Public searchable list of OpenVMS ECO Kits are available at http://ftp.support.compaq.com/patches/.new/openvms.shtml. Contact HP to obtain these ECO Kits. You can also ask HP for a list of the recommended patches to apply to your version of OpenVMS.
Note that one critical set of these ECO Kits must be applied to each and every OpenVMS system in your cluster regardless of whether or not those systems run PMDF.

[2] These patches fix bugs in the OpenVMS callable CONVERT utility. These bugs impact files such as the PMDF queue cache database when operated on by the DCL CONVERT/RECLAIM utility. In addition, these bugs can corrupt users' MAIL.MAI files operated on with VMS MAIL's PURGE/RECLAIM command when issued explicity by a user, or implicitly as part of "auto-purging" a WASTEBASKET folder.
[3] These patches correct a problem in the OpenVMS run-time library routine LIB$CVT_TO_INTERNAL_TIME. Without these patches, threaded applications using DECthreads will fail to work from May 19, 1997 onward.
[4] These patches fix OpenVMS bugs which can lead to the PMDF POP and IMAP servers hanging.
[5] These patches fix OpenVMS MAIL bugs which can lead to access violations and non-fatal SSRVEXCEPTION bug checks.
[6] VAX 6.1 -- VAXRMS04_061
There are other OpenVMS patches that are required by specific PMDF components. See the PMDF OpenVMS Installation Guide for more information.
