Document & Format Conversion
PMDF has a number of facilities for performing conversions of individual message parts (e.g., document conversion) as well as message format conversion. The former is usually accomplished with the conversion channel as described in the PMDF System Manager's Guide. The latter with a number of mechanisms such as gateways and the CHARSET-CONVERSION mapping table. (The CHARSET-CONVERSION mapping table does more than just character set conversion.)
