Q. Why am I having difficulty with the FTP client after I upgraded to MultiNet v4.0B?

A. In MultiNet v4.0, a change was made to the FTP client. The old behavior was to have passive mode disabled by default. This has been changed to enable passive mode by default. You have two options to restore the previous behavior.

• The easier option is to create a file called MULTINET: FTP.INIT in which you place the single line ‘PASV OFF’. If you already have such a file, you can add the line to it.

• The other option is to turn passive mode off from within your FTP session by typing ‘PASV OFF.’ Note that you have to do this for each FTP session you initiate because the change is not permanent.
