TXT (Text) Record

The TXT (text) record allows you to associate any arbitrary text with a host name. Some substandard implementations of BIND do not support the TXT record, but do support a bogus record type called UINFO that does the same thing. We recommend you use only the TXT record type.

You can have multiple TXT records for a single host name.

Format:

Host.DOMAIN.NAME.  IN  TXT  "system manager: melvin@host.domain.name"
                   IN  TXT  "melasu"
