MultiNet IPSec on OpenVMS Integrity and Alpha
Process Software has upgraded MultiNet’s IP Security (IPSec) which provides secure communications (authentication, integrity, confidentiality) over IP-based networks between systems. Computer network security breaches are on the rise and have also become more sophisticated. Because high profile security breaches often make front page news and have a huge potential to damage a company's image and assets, it is more important than ever for system administrators to secure their data. MultiNet is the only TCP/IP solution on OpenVMS to support IPSec. IPSec is often used by administrators because it provides configurable end-to-end security without the need to modify current applications. It also has the flexibility to encrypt all data communications or selective applications.
MultiNet IPSec has been upgraded to support IKEv2 which is the protocol used to set up a security association (SA). It provides an added level of security, broader interoperability and it is easier to manage than IKEv1. It includes all of the latest IPSec RFCs standards.
MultiNet IPSec is not only available for Process Software customers, but is also is ideal for HP TCP/IP customers that need a high level of security. MultiNet provides a simple migration path from HP TCP/IP Services because MultiNet’s BG driver and UCX$IPC_SHR offer complete interoperability. Any existing program running on HP TCP/IP Services will run on MultiNet with little or no modifications. It is available on both the OpenVMS Integrity and Alpha platforms.
