Process Software Teams with RSA Security to Provide Improved Authentication on OpenVMS SystemsProcess Software and RSA Security Enable Joint Customers to Protect their mission critical applications on OpenVMS systems Framingham, MA, August 7, 2006 – Process Software today announced that it has achieved technical interoperability certification between the VMS Authentication Module and RSA SecurID ® two-factor authentication solution. This RSA Secured ® partner program certification signifies that a technical partnership has been extended to increase security for OpenVMS customers. OpenVMS is the acknowledged leader for enterprise-scale, bulletproof computing and continues to serve 10 million users. For more than twenty years, enterprises have relied on OpenVMS to run their mission critical applications and to store sensitive data because it has been a secure and reliable operating system. “The technology partnership between Process Software and RSA Security helps enable enterprises to extend their RSA SecurID two-factor authentication technology to protect data on their OpenVMS systems by restricting access to only authorized personnel,” said Brian McDonald, Process Software president and chief executive officer. “We chose to team with RSA Security because of its proven solutions, and backed up by more than 20,000 customers worldwide.” The VMS Authentication Module is being used at a large financial institution in Switzerland to give more than 1,000 customers secure access to a banking application running on several OpenVMS systems. “This organization provides customers with RSA SecurID cards for access to their personal financial information which is more secure than the use of static passwords,” said Heinz Genhart, GFR Software Solutions AG. “Process Software’s VMS Authentication Module API allowed us to easily integrate RSA SecurID agent software with this financial institution’s application.” Process Software’s VMS Authentication Module software provides two implementation options. It can be incorporated into the normal OpenVMS login procedure or used to protect a particular application on the OpenVMS system. Once a user logs into the OpenVMS operating system using normal procedures, access to a specific applications is granted with a RSA SecurID card. The RSA SecurID agent is one of several authentication methods available that can be integrated into third-party applications using the VMS Authentication Module’s API. “We are pleased to continue the momentum of the RSA Secured Partner Program with the addition of Process Software’s VMS Authentication Module,” said Stuart Cohen, director of partner development at RSA Security. “Companies are struggling to maintain secure access to vital information and applications and the technology partnership between Process Software and RSA Security provides a valuable solution to end users.” About the RSA Secured Partner Program The RSA Secured Partner Program is one of the oldest and largest alliance programs of its type, bringing over twelve years of experience and hundreds of complementary solutions together.
