PROCESS SOFTWARE CELEBRATES THE 30 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF OPENVMS

Framingham, MA, October 25, 2007 - Process Software joins the 30-year anniversary celebration of OpenVMS today. October 25, 1977 officially marks the first release of VMS v1.0. As a premier developer of networking and messaging solutions on the OpenVMS platform, Process Software believes it is the operating system of choice when reliability and scalability are paramount.

Process Software was founded in 1984 and built the first native TCP/IP stack for OpenVMS in 1987. Process Software continues to develop and support OpenVMS solutions for mission critical networks and applications on VAX, Alpha, and Integrity platforms. The products include TCPware and MultiNet TCP/IP stacks for OpenVMS, SSH for OpenVMS, PMDF Messaging Server, PreciseMail Anti-Spam Gateway, and VMS Authentication Module.

In 2007, we added secure LDAP and Radius authentication.

Members of the Process Software organization have also been key contributors to the OpenVMS community. Hunter Goatley, Process Software technical manager, maintains an OpenVMS Resources Center on the Process Software website (http://www.process.com/openvms/index.html). It includes the largest repository of free OpenVMS software, many of which were developed by Hunter. It also includes articles on OpenVMS tools and technologies and information on the Hobbyist program, which Process Software has participated in since 1999. “I have developed many applications and tools on OpenVMS because of its unmatched versatility and security. As a result, I designed PreciseMail Anti-Spam Gateway first on OpenVMS before making it available on other platforms”, said Hunter Goatley.
